A Picnic in the Park Party

I love the park. I currently live in London, so I am blessed with some of the best park-centric cultures in the world. London might be a massive city, but trust me, the green spaces inside the city are INSANE. There are tons of little parks and gardens that are free and open to the public. However, it gets even better. The bigger parks in London like Hyde Park, Regent’s Park, Hampstead Heath, and Victoria Park really make you think that you are not even in a city! They are stunning. So, if you are ever in London, definitely put one of those on your bucket list.

Sorry, I am getting carried away. I bring up the park culture though because, in the summer, it is the best thing in London! Everyone basically picnics, chills, and has little gatherings in the park. It is such a cool thing to witness. It also happens to be my favorite thing to do in the summer.

Therefore, no matter where you are, I am going to give you some tips for throwing the best picnic party in the park. Woo!

First and foremost you need a good picnic blanket or sheet. I think a queen-size flat sheet is always a good and budget-friendly option. Most people probably have an older sheet they rarely use anymore, so why not put it to better use?

If you opt for a picnic table, then you have to go for the classic Red Gingham Plastic Tablecloth. You can purchase one here.

Now for the plates, cups, and cutlery. I think a good picnic party is casual but kind of sophisticated, you know? So Definitely look into these Elegance Tumblers, the Hard Plastic Dessert Plates, and the Silver Plastic Cutlery

Okay, let’s get to the good stuff: food and drinks.

This is the perfect opportunity to have mimosas, good white wine, or even some delicious local beer. If you don’t drink alcohol, sweet tea, lemonade, or a punch are great options.

Now for the food!

Finger food is your best friend. Think of lots of fruits, crackers, cheeses, chips, cured meats, and basically, anything else that would be on a grazing or charcuterie board. A great picnic is like a deconstructed charcuterie board in my opinion.

Don’t forget dessert! I love a good cake. So definitely do something fun and summery!

Oh, and of course, never forget the speaker to blast the tunes!

Have fun guys!

4th of July Party Supplies

The 4th of July is a holiday that just screams American summer to me. I mean this in the best way possible. When I think about the 4th of July, I think about the hot, sweltering sun, taking a dip in the water, and of course, a cookout and lots of good vibes. The fireworks are a must, and of course, we have to have lots of different variations of the flag of the United States of America for the celebration.

I enjoy how relaxed the entire day is, don’t you? Crack open a cold beer, listen to music, and soak it all in. I love that. I think any time we can take life a little slower and just enjoy it, that is the best way to be. So, no matter what your plans are this Fourth of July, I invite you to get your party supplies from the Party Place. Jazz up the cookout or lake day with all our fantastic options.

Here is the round-up of my favorite supplies and decorations we offer.

  1. Classic Flags

No Independence Day celebration is complete without a plethora of American flags! These are great to put out for decoration in nearly every setting. You can put them around the food, in flower pots, around the pool, and all the other things you can think of to use for! Not to mention they look cute in photos too.

I love tinsel. It just adds such a fun vibe to the decorations at a party. I will always use tinsel garland if given the chance.

These are totally perfect for any outdoor or indoor venue. I like these too because they also can be used for other occasions! Don’t we just love versatility?

If you want some classic Americana, patriotic type of décor, this is totally the piece for you. What screams USA more than some classic bunting? I can’t think of anything else.

That’s it, ladies and gentlemen. Get your stuff to get prepared for this 4th of July!

Want to Play Mermaids?

Courtesy of Catchmypary.com

When I was a little girl, I loved playing mermaids in the summer pool. Summers in the South are hot, so I spent as much time in the pool as possible. I loved swimming, but most importantly I loved playing mermaids with my friends. If you remember the tv show H2O, you probably understand why.

Anyhow, I also have a summer birthday, so pool parties were basically a given no matter what age I was turning. They were easy, fun, and my favorite thing! So, how about I give homage to my mermaid dreams and talk about a mermaid birthday party!

Any kid obsessed with mermaids is sure to want this party theme, especially with the supplies Party Place has to offer. Especially with the new Little Mermaid movie, it will be a popular theme this summer!

Go ahead and grab the mermaid invitations to get this party started! You can buy them here.

Every mermaid birthday party needs water! So if you have a pool at your house, a friend’s, or a public pool you can use, that will be perfect for this!

I love a good balloon arch, as I am sure everyone is well aware of at this point. So, let’s start the décor off right with a balloon arch in some great under the sea colors like blue, purple, and green!

This color palette goes well with the decorations from Party Place.

For the food table, and even for the cake itself, definitely consider using these Sequined Mermaid Tail Picks. They can add some awesome flair! These are 7in so they absolutely pack a punch!

Speaking of food, do not forget the napkins. These Mermaids Have all the Fun napkins are perfect to set the mood for the party.

Once your little mermaids have all their fun, and it is time to go home, do not even think about forgetting the goodie bag! When I was a kid, these were my favorite.

Two essential components to the goodie bags are going to be these amazing Iridescent Mermaid Party Blowers and the Princess Mermaid dolls!

Party Place has it all to get the perfect mermaid party together for whoever you are celebrating. May all the little mermaids get to play together the same way I did as a child.

Running Low on Time and Ideas? The Solution is Here!

Either you have to throw a last minute party or you forgot that you needed to still buy decorations. Maybe you had intentions of making the decorations yourself but life and time got the best of you! Furthermore, maybe you are just running low on ideas for your party decorations. Trust me, it happens to all of us.

I will never forget the time I was hosting a Mardi Gras party and could not find a plastic Baby Jesus for the King Cake. I was at a loss that I could not find my package of them, and I truly was late to my own party because I went to six different stores looking for a replacement.

The point of the story is that no matter how prepared you want to be, sometimes things happen!

Now, that being said, would it not be so nice if there was a quick and easy solution for all of these party problems. I do not know, but perhaps if there was something like a party in a box to help us out in our most dire times.

Well, I can happily say that a party in a box DOES exist.

I can hear you all gasping. I know, I know.

The Party Place offers a slew of options for these situations. Especially with Memorial Weekend and Flag Day on June 14th coming up, their patriotic party boxes are the perfect solution.

Currently, The Party Place offers four different boxed party solutions.

They are:

What fantastic and easy solutions for all of your party problems!

Additionally, if you have a party coming up that we do not offer a quick fix for, come on down to the store or give us a call. We would be thrilled to offer our premium assistance to make the party planning and decorating process as painless as possible.

Graduation Galore!

Graduation season is upon us, and I remember it all too well (I graduated from my undergraduate university last year May). It is a time of so many emotions. Obviously we are all so proud of the graduates, but it can also be a time of sadness because that means a big change in life is about to come. Well, unless you are me and decide to go to grad school to prolong the despair of trying to find a good job in this economy. Though, that is coming to an end for me as I graduate in July.

However, let us not get too depressed about the realities of life. It is celebration time! I know a few things about graduation parties just because of my friends and my own experiences about it. Luckily, Party Place has all the things you need for a cool graduation no matter if it is for high school, college, or graduate school.

Something I am not a fan of about graduation party supplies is that it is usually only limited to one color. Especially with high schools, that can be extremely frustrating if you can only find blue graduation party supplies and you are wearing a red cap and gown. However, there is no need to worry about that with Party Place. They offer almost every single piece from their graduation collection in multiple colors. This means that if you just fall in love with that Green Graduation Table Decorating Kit, but you want it in black, you can totally do that!

Also, if matching your school colors is not your thing, then there are several generic, multi color party supplies to fulfill whatever you need. Just check out these plates! So, definitely look no further than the Party Place for any of these supplies. They have tons, and you can either order online or shop in the store. It is truly whatever fits your schedule.

However, I think graduation parties are more special and sentimental if you add some non-store bought things in addition to the decorations. For example, my family printed out a ton of photos from my time in school to commemorate such a big moment in someone’s life. Even just taking a poster frame and making a collage of tons of photos is a great way to make the party feel very special for the graduate.

For food, just go simple and do a huge grazing table! My friend did this last year for her graduation party, and it was a fantastic way to keep everyone happy without putting stress on her family having to constantly serve everyone. They were able to enjoy the party themselves.

Be sure to not cry too much, and just soak in the moments. They don’t last forever and graduation is proof that life just keeps changing!

It’s a Jungle Out There: First Birthday Idea

Courtesy of Etsy

Planning a. first birthday party can be a difficult task. Since your little one is quite small, they do not really have a way of expressing any of their interests. However, as the guardian, I am sure you know better than anyone else what they love. Afterall, even if you still have no clue what to do, I would like to think that in all honesty, the first birthday is more so for the parents than anyone else.

So, that being said, let us plan one wild jungle party! No, I do not mean wild as in going out and partying as you did in your 20s! I am just simply making a pun about the wild outdoors!

Look, I know I am not funny.

In all seriousness, let’s get this party planning started.

I was inspired by the wide variety of selections from Party Place for this specific theme. That is totally good news for you too, because if we have learned anything about my party planning style, I like things to be easy and simple.

Courtesy of Kara’s Party Ideas

What child does not love a good balloon? My three-year-old nephew is obsessed with balloons, and he has been since he was a small baby! Anyways, Party Place has several jungle animal balloons including an elephant, a lion, and a tiger. They are super cute and perfect for decorating the party without breaking the budget or being too much of a hassle.

Check out the balloon options here along with photo booth supplies and napkins.

Additionally, I think that you have a great opportunity for cute invitations as well. You could say something like “The Wild Child Turns One,” something like “Wild One,”  or “Party Animal” to keep it super simple.

Also, for a cake, I think anything animal print or involves flora and fauna is a perfect match. Definitely check out my favorite cake decorating business in Fort Smith, Creative Kitchen. They have done so many cakes for my family, my other events, and so forth. I am always so pleased with them!

For the rest of the decorations, keep it fun and simple with tons of loud animal prints and florals. Really, bigger is definitely better for this. You can totally get some cute photos of the little one with a theme like this. It is a ton of fun, not overdone, and best of all, super easy to achieve!

Easter Brunch

Easter is such a cute holiday. The pastels, the florals, the eggs, and not to mention the adorable little bunnies! I think it is the epitome of spring in full swing in many ways, which means better weather, more outdoor time, and so forth. What is not to love about that? This is why I propose an excellent garden brunch for Easter this year.

Oh, did I mention, I love brunch? I know I am really submitting to the whole “basic brunch girlie” vibe, but I do not care! I love the idea of brunch in general. The food choices, the drinks, the cute restaurants, the entire vibe! It just gets everyone buzzing in the best way possible.

So, let’s go ahead and emulate that for Easter this year for sure. I love a good tablescape as well. I think it really captures the atmosphere for a party or event every single time. Here are some of my favorite examples of Easter tablescapes for this year.

Party Place has tons of party supplies and balloons to make these tablescapes a reality. So check online or get on down to the store to get all that you need.

I love this Iridescent & Multi Colored Fringed Backdrop for a good backing piece to any party center tablescape.

As for a menu, think of something fun and sweet! Think about things like French toast, pancakes, chicken & waffles, fruit sides, mimosas, and other such dishes. This will really add to the pastel and springtime vibes, so go for it. If you are not into cooking all of this yourself, either check out some local brunch restaurants to see if you can either decorate a few tables at the restaurant or get them to cater for you!

Easy and breezy! Just like a beautiful spring day.

Eat, Sleep, Dunk: March Madness Party

March Madness

With the 2023 March Madness season in full swing, it only feels right to throw a party. I am sure everyone who observes this wild time has been through some highs and lows already with their dream team lineups and bracket formulations.

I am not the most well-versed in basketball, but I enjoy some friendly competition, so March Madness is a fun time for my friends and me. So, once again, what better way to celebrate the season than to throw a basketball bash?

Hence the title of this post, “Eat, Sleep, Dunk,” I felt inspired by some napkins available at the Party Place.

The napkins will set the tone for the vibe of this party, and I totally think these are more than fitting. March Madness does tend to preoccupy us all (lol!).

I think a really simple basketball watch party is more than enough for a March Madness celebration. However, that being said, I think everyone should go all out on the cupcakes. Party Place has these incredible basketball cupcake picks if you are not artistically inclined in decoration skills (me), and they will make your cupcakes look clean, crisp, and on the theme.

However, if you want to try your hand at making basketball cupcakes (literally), then definitely check out those Pinterest recipes to get the perfect look.

That being said, do not forget that local bakeries are also an option, and I am sure places in the River Valley area (like Creative Kitchen) would love to put your baking stress at ease and make you something great.

Do not forget the drinks either!

Personally, I think basketball calls for beer (accompanied by pizza and cupcakes), but feel free to do what you feel works with your party crowd the best.

I like to keep things local when I buy beer so absolutely check out your brewery options and local suppliers.

If you are looking for more decorations for a March Madness party, then come on down to Party Place today or check online for a payless shopping experience.

Feeling Lucky? A Saint Patrick’s Day Party

Courtesy of Best Friends for Frosting

Saint Patrick’s Day is coming up and surely you are wondering what you are going to do for this very green holiday. My first choice would be hopping on a flight to Dublin to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day in the motherland, but obviously, this is out of the question for most people.

If you are going to Dublin for Saint Patrick’s Day, I envy you. It is a great and very fun city.

Anyways, since we cannot go to Dublin, let’s bring the party back home!

If there is one thing I learned while in Dublin, it is that people love to party and drink a lot of beer—especially Guinness. I gained a new appreciation for it when I went to the Guinness Storehouse (and even learned to pour the perfect pint!).

So, rule number one for this party: get some good ol’ Irish beers. If you do not drink, no need to fret, make a fun punch, or invest in some non-alcoholic beers. The energy will be incredible with good music, vibes, and people!

Decorations will be pretty easy for this party. I am sure we all love to hear that too. I think doing a rainbow balloon arch is a great way to add pizazz without feeling fussy. Party Place is the perfect place to get the materials for this, and our staff would be more than happy to help you out with executing the arch.

If you click on this link, you can see our balloon options and even request a costume balloon order.

Go for either a classic-colored rainbow arch or you can stick to a more monochromatic, green-only party palette.

This one from Celebrate You Events is a good example of a green rainbow arch!

Courtesy of Celebrate You Events

For table decorations just think green and gold! Get those gold chocolate coins and spread them all over your tablespace; you will be  (literally) golden. Check out the Saint Patrick’s Day section to get a good overview of all the party supplies we offer.

For a more elevated look, get some fresh greenery to get that spring feel and luscious look.

Courtesy of Celebrate You Events

Food is pretty much up to you on this one! I suggest beer, cupcakes, and soft pretzels! Pretzels go well with beer and cupcakes just go with anything. However, you can feel free to do anything else. I like to keep it simple and festive for parties like this. You can set the vibe and provide some snacks, but unless you are planning a full dinner, your guests do not expect you to feed them a four-course meal.

I am using these cupcakes as inspiration.

Come on down to Party Place, and until the next party, see you!

Reach for the Stars: An Oscars Watch Party

Image ©razoomanetu

To be completely honest, I really do not know what happens at the Oscars. I never know who wins and much less do I know who was nominated. If you ask me for even a movie that has won an Oscar, I can guarantee I would not give a correct answer.

Tragic? Yes, depending on who you are and how much you like films and awards shows.

Anyhow, just because I may know very little about the Oscars does not mean I do not know how to throw an Oscars watch party!

My idea of a watch party is a little different than others. Honestly, the whole watch party thing is really just a cover for a cool theme. The theme? The Oscars!

Roll out the red carpet, dust off the tuxedo jacket, and strap on those stilettos!

Yes, that is exactly what I am suggesting… your very own Oscars!

It really does not have to be intense or fancy, the easiest thing to do is just to provide a dress code, get a few appropriate decorations, and serve some champagne. Then, you have yourself one suave and sophisticated party.

I think the dress code can be anything from snazzy cocktail wear to full-on white tie if you are feeling boujee. Things like suits, ties, tuxedos, long evening dresses, elegant heels, and so forth will do some wonders to create cohesion in the theme. Just be sure to say so on your invites.

Party Place has tons of options for decorations, so whether or not you are wanting to get deep in the theme or keep things simple, they have you covered.

Definitely check out the Star Party Place Cards to get that Hollywood Star looks in a simple and subtle way on the table decorations. Keeping with the theme, the Awards Nights tassels definitely give that star-in-the-night vibe without breaking the bank!

Not to mention, to really be on theme and make this a proper watch party, check out the Awards Night game cards! These are sure to be a fun way to get your guests involved with the Oscars and get participatory during the night.

See? It is as simple as that to get a sophisticated, elegant, but fun party together. Check out the rest of the Party Place awards night decorations for even more inspiration.
