Let the Good Times Roll
The thing I miss most about living down South, besides the beach, is Mardi Gras. Once you’ve experienced living where they truly celebrate Mardi Gras and all that it represents you will understand what I mean. There are lots and lots of parties and most are formal and by invitation only. The parades go on for days and the beads, beads, beads!
Engagement Parties
My niece is getting married in a few days, so it has been nothing but wedding planning for the last few weeks. It is only appropriate that I blog about something wedding-related. After the proposal and acceptance come many fun memories and events in addition to the wedding. For a while, it seemed as if people weren’t doing as many engagement parties as they once had, but, fortunately, they are making a comeback. In my opinion, this is a great way for a couple to announce and celebrate their engagement with family and friends. This is also the perfect time to introduce families and relatives on both sides. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
The Difference is in the Details

Murder at the Juice Joint
A couple of weeks ago, we hosted a murder mystery dinner party. I have wanted to do one of these for a while, but never had the time to get it together. The theme was set in the 20s, Murder at the Juice Joint, to be exact. Let me tell you this was one of the best parties we have ever thrown. It was a ton of prep work, but once that was done, the party practically ran itself. Here are the deets:
Friendsgiving Celebrations: Keep It Cool & Casual
Have you ever thought about hosting a Friendsgiving? Last year was our first year to host and we had the best time. Of course, I still love traditional Thanksgiving with all my family, but Friendsgiving was just fun, lighthearted and a great day spent with friends. I read somewhere that Friendsgiving was like Thanksgiving’s cool, […]
