Valentine’s Day Rom Com Extravaganza

I love Valentine’s Day. I say that every year, but I really do mean that. I honestly do not know why I love it so much. I have been single for every Valentine’s Day except for once, but nonetheless my love for this holiday persists.

It is probably because I am a hopeless romantic and just adore some good ol’ romantic comedies. Oh, and I love the somewhat gaudiness of Valentine’s Day decorations. Who knows why, I just do. I gave up trying to figure it out ages ago.

Anyways, if you are a hopeless romantic like me or just love a good rom com, then this party is definitely for you.

This is for all my single girlies out there. You do not have to be in a relationship with someone for your Valentine’s Day to not suck. All it takes is a little chocolate, wine, and goofy rom coms to really get you in the spirit.

So, let’s throw a good party!

Everyone will be happy to know that Party Place has everything imaginable for a Valentine’s Day Rom Com Extravaganza.

I think something that would be super cute to do for this party is to make little goody bags for the rom com watch party.

Also, feel free to choose any movies you’d like. One of my all-time favorites is 13 Going on 30 though, just saying.

Anyways, these bags! Here’s what I would put in them:

  • Bags of popcorn
  • Valentine’s chocolates
  • Socks
  • Mini candle
  • Face masks
  • Other self-care essentials!

I think this whole little extravaganza should be super relaxing. I think that’s why face masks and candles are obviously a perfect choice. I know what I’ll be doing this year on Valentine’s Day.

However, you’ll need some bags to put this stuff in! So, take your pick from Party Place. There is so much to choose from. Just hop online and pick what you feel best! That link above goes to all Valentine’s Day items they stock! Also, don’t forget the decorations! Heart doilies, confetti, and heart balloons are always my go-to decorations. Good thing Party Place has it all. Shop online or in store, but get to shopping so that you aren’t last minute trying to get your items together. Go into this party season stress free with easy shopping at the Party Place!

Disco New Year’s Party

When I think about New Year’s Eve, I think about gold, glitter, and silver. I think about champagne, parties, and fun outfits. So, let us put that all together to make the ultimate New Year’s Eve Party. Disco. New. Year’s. Eve.

Does that not just sound so jazzy and fun? I think so, and I will definitely be talking my family into throwing a disco party this year.

I am home from London, so obviously, we need to get this party started, literally!

‘Tis the new year, and ‘tis the season for fun and flirty celebrations.

First and foremost, let’s talk about dress code. This is one of the most important aspects to me because of all the photos people are going to take! Hello, Instagram pics for the win. A necessity going into 2023.

So dress code: definitely make it glittery and fun. Ask people to wear sequins, velvet, and anything else that rally exudes disco vibes. If they want to dress like a 70s disco star or a literal mirror ball, all things are good. So werk it!

The best part about décor is that Party Place has you covered! This disco ball sign is literally perfect for this theme. A great way to get a little party backdrop and really set the food with this sign.

In addition to that, literally just get all sorts of sequins, disco balls, and mirrored vases and you will have a stunning set up that is sure to shine through the night.

For your plates for party snacks, Party Place has matching plates to the signs. These are so fun and truly just perfect for the party.

Feel free to serve what you like, just make sure to include some champs, baby!

Once you get these basics down, you can make one heck of a party. Just make sure to get some banging tunes. I think some 70s disco jams would be extremely fitting, and I think that is just the vibe to do. Come to Party Place to get all the goods, and you can throw a great disco NYE party this year!

Ring in the new year with one real good time.

Christmas Wine Exchange

Look, Christmas is not just for the kids! Adults need to have some fun too. So, naturally, when I saw these Christmas Wine Bottle Bags at the Party Place, I just knew we needed to throw a party with such.

Why not do a fun and festive wine exchange? This is the easiest way to get some adults involved and interested in a fun little party. This can be a great one to use for coworker parties, charity events, and other things you might struggle finding a good theme for if it’s not just for friends. Though, don’t be discouraged, I love doing these with my friends too!

You can even kick it up a notch with an ugly Christmas sweater contest or do something a little more “elegant” with a semi-black tie dress code if this is for a serious crowd.

However, if you want to do the fun Christmas sweater moment, we even have you covered on that end. Just click here.

Anyways, how do you do a wine exchange?

Well, it is quite simple. Set a price range on bottles and/or guidelines (red, white, bubbly, etc). Also, ask them to bring two identical bottles. The first bottle is made for tasting throughout the night, and the second bottle will be for the swap.

There are many ways to play the swap game, but I like to think of it like Dirty Santa. Since everyone has been able to try the wines, they have a good indication of what it is they are trying to take home! People will draw names to see the order and are able to steal bottles, swap with players, or try and keep their hands on the one they really want!

Plus, this is much more fun than Dirty Santa because chances are, people actually want this gift haha!

Do not forget to get some great appetizers and grazing boards for this event. Wine tasting needs food! So either prepare, cater, or ask people to bring items that go well with their wines.

Eat, drink, and be merry! ‘Tis the season!

Mulled Wine and Cold Nights

It is definitely getting colder, which definitely signifies the holidays are coming quite soon! With Thanksgiving and then Christmas right on our tails, there is one thing we have to immediately.

Make. Mulled. Wine.

Duh!!!

The weather is chilly in the day and so it is only bound to be bone-chilling cold in the night! So, what better way to warm up than with a mulled wine.

If you are not too into the idea of mulled wine, you can easily do this party with a hot apple cider or even hot chocolate. Truly is up to you, but I am a mulled wine fan, so that will be the example for now.

This can easily be a cute little party moment if you want it to be because of how festive the drink is and well, you make your own rules and do what you want! If you want everyone to dress up according to a theme, then by all means have them do it! If you would rather this be anything else, then again, do what you please!

I am merely suggesting seeds of thought so that you can grow an even better idea!

However, I think a mulled wine tasting would be an amazing little party for sure.

Everyone can bring their own mulled wine creation (Pinterest has TONS of recipes, so do food magazines, and all outlets of social media!)

This is probably best suited for a smaller group of people—under 8 or 10—because you know… you might start feeling the mulled wine more than you would like, ha! However, if that is your vibe, then definitely… more the merrier.

Regardless of how you want this mulled wine night to go, it is sure to be a fun time.

Get your wine pairings ready and get brewing, this is sure to be a night you won’t forget.

Things like cheese, meats, and breads will be your bestie for these pairings. Make sure to check out suggestions online for it.

As for the dining ware, come on down to Party Place and get some fancy looking plastic wine glasses, snacking plates, and so much more!

Gobble + Wobble: A Turkey-centric Thanksgiving Party

I love a good turkey. Yes, to eat, but also I think that they are just fascinating and quite funny looking creatures—which I appreciate. They are just peacocks in different fonts, if you will… Anyways, none of this matters. What does matter, however, is that I am here to present to you some fun ideas for a turkey party.

Party Place has so many fun turkey and Thanksgiving decorations that I just cannot ignore them. There must be a party. Now that Halloween has come and gone, this means holiday season has OFFICIALLY started. Why wait until the next official holiday to throw a party? Why not throw some in honor of the party and just take the vibes of the holiday to make it a fun and festive endeavor.

Hence the eagerness to do a turkey party.

Lucky for you, Party Place has absolutely got you covered with the decorations, as aforementioned. Centerpieces, plates, tablecloths, and literally anything else is there for your decorating pleasures.

The real fun, however, comes with how goofy you want to make this turkey party.

I propose one very goofy and iconic (in my opinion) idea. The dress code is to dress up like a turkey. Your guests can take this however they want… roasted turkey, a regular turkey, a turkey leg, and so much more. The possibilities may not be endless, but the laughs will be when everyone shows up in their goofiest turkey get-up.

For food, you absolutely need to serve turkey. It just would not be a turkey party without it. You’ll definitely need to set up a photo booth area to show off those outfits, and you are free to do anything else you like.

I think some fun and festive drinks would be a great addition as well. As pictured below, you could make some divine cranberry cocktail or sangria.

I think a pin-the-tail on the turkey would be a fun addition to the party, and you could even have a costume contest for most creative.

Get gobbling and do a turkey party!

A Bewitching Tea Party

I know I have mentioned it over a dozen times that I adore Halloween. It is definitely one of my favorite holidays, right up there with Christmas!

Some people will scoff at me for saying I love Halloween, however, I find this is a result of them not realizing just how much fun you can make Halloween!

It does not have to be about the scary ghouls, haunted houses, and spooky encounters. Well, it is, but they do not have to be disturbing or frightening!

Put a spin on it where it is much more enjoyable and cute. It is all about taking the supernatural world and bringing it into ours in a way that is fun and just for kicks! No need to scare off your neighbors! Comes as you aren’t and have tons of fun doing so for one night of the year.

So… I present a Bewitching Tea Party meant not only for witches but also friendly ghosts, goblins, and vampires! Honestly, you can show up as whatever you want, and it will fit the fun and friendly theme.

For a Bewitching Tea Party, the two most important components are color palettes and food.

Think about muted greens, deep and light purples, as well as the obvious… black.

How witchy! Yet, it won’t look cliché with these muted tones, which gives a much more sophisticated feel.

The other thing to consider with colors too is definitely pattern. I think these are good additives to the Halloween party scene because you can mix and match some quirky patterns to really get that classic Halloween look.

Okay, now we have to talk food. The easy thing about a tea party is that it is all finger foods. There is no reason to do a full five course meal when you’re having a posh tea party.

Go for these fun little macarons and mummy scones, as well as finger sandwiches. How adorable! Creative Kitchen is a great source of all sorts of these pastries and finger foods, so check them out!

Finally, we can’t forget one very important detail for a Bewitching Tea Party. You HAVE to add these tiny cauldrons so the guests can get the full effect. Also, consider putting your table menu in a cute little spell book. You can find printable menus on Etsy or even Pinterest.

Well, that’s all I have! Personally I will be attempting to do a party just like this while I live in London. I have to bring Halloween to the Brits, duh!

Happy Pumpkin Day!

I love autumn so much! It is definitely the best season ever for so many reasons.

  1. The weather is not blazing hot, and my outfits get ten times cuter because I am not dying from a heat stroke.
  2. Especially during October, it is the beginning of the holiday season. Hello… what is not to love about that?
  3. Halloween!! It is one of my favorite holidays, and I just can’t deny putting it in my list of reasons to love fall.
  4. Lastly, the flavors! Pumpkin. Everything. I couldn’t imagine anything better. That’s all.

Speaking of pumpkin, the best way to kick off the autumn season in my very (not) unbiased opinion, is with a pumpkin day party!

Though it may not be an actual holiday, you can still declare any day you want to be a holiday dedicated to pumpkin anything. The world is what you make it, so if you want to have a pumpkin day, then do it!

A pumpkin day party is easy to do because the limits are well… limitless.

Here are some ideas for a pumpkin day party:

  1. Pumpkin painting or decorating!

This a great one for kiddos and adults alike. You can get lots of supplies to make some fantastic pumpkins. Bring out your inner artist.

  • Pumpkin flavored everything.

Throw a party that only contains pumpkin flavored items! You could have pumpkin spiced lattes, pumpkin bread, pumpkin cookies, pumpkin cakes, and anything else your heart desires. I love pumpkin-flavored anything, so this is the party I would do for sure.

  • Pumpkin patch outing

I remember as a kid loving the pumpkin patches, and I know I would love to go back to one. So, I propose to do a fun little pumpkin patch trip for a party idea. That way, everyone can get their own pumpkin and have a great time. Hey, might even get some cute Instagram pics!

So, get your pumpkin day on and celebrate fall!

Football Season = Party Time

It is September, so that means that college football season is right around the corner! For all you football fans, this is the blog post for you. Today we are going to talk about how to throw a great football party! I am not the biggest football aficionado, but I know enough to get by. So, keep in mind when reading this I might fumble with some football jargon a bit.

Did you see what I did there? Alright, alright, bad dad jokes aside, let’s throw a football party!

Whether or not you have season tickets or like watching the games at home, you can make this party happen anywhere! All you need is some friendly competition, burgers, and good vibes.

I think the most integral part of ANY college football party or tailgate is some cornhole! I grew up playing cornhole before almost every OU football game just because that was how we got in the mood to watch the heat go down during a football game.

So, step one to a great football party: play cornhole!

You can buy cornhole boards, from Amazon, Target, Walmart, and pretty much any other major retailer.

The next thing you need is to get some football inspired plates, napkins, and other eatery! Party Place is your one-stop shop for all things football, and trust me, you don’t want to miss these products. Here is a direct link to all football supplies.

My personal favorite is this football field cup.

Next for food, keep it simple with some little burger sliders! I think any type of grab-and-go food is a good way to be. It is an easy clean up and usually good for snack-type situation like this!

I also am team burger sliders because then you can use these cute little flags!

Seriously, so cute. Add a couple of coolers filled with soda, beer, and water (hydration!), and let the good times roll!

Back to School Bash

people might be happy to return to school whereas others will be devastated to sit back in the classroom once again (even college students included!). Anyhow, no matter how you feel about school starting, it is the inevitable. I personally think it is a time for new beginnings! Some might disagree with me, but I have different feelings. I always liked to go buy a few new school supplies and decide the vibe for the year. When I was a kid I swear I was going through a different aesthetic to match my personality every year, but I bet everyone felt that way, haha!

Anyhow, a back to school bash would have been such a fun way to kind of “solidify” the aesthetic of the year for me. So, I propose a fun little school supply gathering and decorating party for those starting elementary, middle, or high school! Honestly, you can switch it up a little in terms of supplies and go for something a little more college for those university aged students.

So, my plan is this! Gather up some fun school supplies… pencils, pens, erasers, and other things as such, and make small goodie bags for the party attendees. However! This isn’t any ordinary school goodie bag. You can buy clear plastic pencil cases or the fabric ones that have the clear middle insert. Either way, you will want something you can decorate with stickers and such.

Finally, you can either have people provide their own notebooks to decorate or you can go find some at the dollar store! As long as the cover is pretty plain (get whatever colors you like), you’ll be in perfect shape to do some fun decorating.

Now for the fun part! Feel free to buy any sort of decorations for your bags and notebooks. You can buy what I suggest, or you can go for something different. The goal is to let every party attendee create a super unique set of school supplies that shows their spunk and style.

Things like stickers, washi tape, markers, and even some double-sided tape and paper would be good. Let their imaginations run wild and go for it!

This is a pretty simple party with just a tad of prep work really placed into the buying of materials.

The decorations are simple. Just come on down to Party Place and get some great little supplies.

Going Away to College

If you get that this blog title is also a Blink-182 song, I like you already. Am I dating myself with that reference? Anyways, today is the day we talk about something big: college. I am sure many parents and students are about to say goodbye and open up a new chapter. So, why not throw a college colors themed party for all those about to leave for college!

Basically it is just a small little get together or the whole sha-bang if you want it to be with all the future college students wearing their school’s colors. For example, I got my BA degrees from the University of Oklahoma, so I am going to wear crimson and cream to the party. Whereas others would wear clothing items that represent their school whether that be University of Arkansas, UAFS, OSU, and anywhere else!

Decorations would just need to be very classic college! Pennant flags, football décor, and other little academic things that fit your party’s vibe. I would go for big, collegiate lettering on the invitations, and stick to pennants, confetti, and maybe even some big college textbooks for authenticity (trust me, I have so many from my 4 years at OU).

The party should also include lots of photo taking since these students are about to leave home! So, think about setting up a fun photo booth area with a fringe background. You can use any camera you’d like, but consider getting a Polaroid camera so that you can have instant and tangible photos for all the partygoers.

This will be a great way to get people to cherish their time together and look forward to something new. Let’s make it a supportive environment that supports these kids in their futures! This party isn’t meant to be sad… but celebratory!

Food is completely up to you, so go crazy! Party Place has plenty of pennant flag and football decorations to go through. Not to mention lots of school related items. See our website to check out everything we have in stock for shipping, or come to the store and look for even more!
