Monster Mash Bash Party

We are finally in the month of my all time favorite holiday. Yes! It is Halloween. I have loved Halloween for as long as I can remember. I have always loved to dress up, decorate with all the spooky and fun classic Halloween items, and of course, throw Halloween parties.

Some of my fondest memories of childhood are from the Halloween parties my mom would throw for me and my friends from school. She did it all the way up until I graduated high school. It was such a lovely time for me.

It is never too late to start a tradition such as that.

Even if you don’t do it annually, you should consider throwing a Halloween party this year. I find it one of the most fun types of parties to plan and attend.

So, for today’s party idea let’s throw ourselves a Monster Mash Bash!

I think any classic Halloween party theme like this is always a hit. Especially if your Bash is an adults-only party, this definitely will give them that nostalgic feel they so often desire around this time of year.

For a Monster Mash Bash, you definitely need a banging playlist. I find this type of party to be one made for blasting music and dancing your heart out. Spotify and Youtube are both great places to find ready-made playlists so that your party music slays (literally).

Now, for my parties, I always make it a requirement to wear a costume. I do not really care what the costume is or how intensely made it is, but I do care that you have one on. It is so important to be in the spirit I think.

You can set a specific set of requirements for your party or keep it open to interpretation.

Additionally, you need to make a spooky punch. Something that is fun, flavorful, and if you’re into it, has a little zing from liquor.

I find that these ghost-hand ice cubes are always a hit with guests.

Next, we need to add in the Blood Fondue—otherwise known as white chocolate with red food coloring in it! This is the perfect thing to make a spectacular treat that will sure to give people the creeps in the best way!

Lastly, we need some monster mash treats to go along with our other items. Consider getting monster-themed cookies or brownies with candy eyeballs for example to make it extra spooky.

Easter Brunch

Easter is such a cute holiday. The pastels, the florals, the eggs, and not to mention the adorable little bunnies! I think it is the epitome of spring in full swing in many ways, which means better weather, more outdoor time, and so forth. What is not to love about that? This is why I propose an excellent garden brunch for Easter this year.

Oh, did I mention, I love brunch? I know I am really submitting to the whole “basic brunch girlie” vibe, but I do not care! I love the idea of brunch in general. The food choices, the drinks, the cute restaurants, the entire vibe! It just gets everyone buzzing in the best way possible.

So, let’s go ahead and emulate that for Easter this year for sure. I love a good tablescape as well. I think it really captures the atmosphere for a party or event every single time. Here are some of my favorite examples of Easter tablescapes for this year.

Party Place has tons of party supplies and balloons to make these tablescapes a reality. So check online or get on down to the store to get all that you need.

I love this Iridescent & Multi Colored Fringed Backdrop for a good backing piece to any party center tablescape.

As for a menu, think of something fun and sweet! Think about things like French toast, pancakes, chicken & waffles, fruit sides, mimosas, and other such dishes. This will really add to the pastel and springtime vibes, so go for it. If you are not into cooking all of this yourself, either check out some local brunch restaurants to see if you can either decorate a few tables at the restaurant or get them to cater for you!

Easy and breezy! Just like a beautiful spring day.

Reach for the Stars: An Oscars Watch Party

Image ©razoomanetu

To be completely honest, I really do not know what happens at the Oscars. I never know who wins and much less do I know who was nominated. If you ask me for even a movie that has won an Oscar, I can guarantee I would not give a correct answer.

Tragic? Yes, depending on who you are and how much you like films and awards shows.

Anyhow, just because I may know very little about the Oscars does not mean I do not know how to throw an Oscars watch party!

My idea of a watch party is a little different than others. Honestly, the whole watch party thing is really just a cover for a cool theme. The theme? The Oscars!

Roll out the red carpet, dust off the tuxedo jacket, and strap on those stilettos!

Yes, that is exactly what I am suggesting… your very own Oscars!

It really does not have to be intense or fancy, the easiest thing to do is just to provide a dress code, get a few appropriate decorations, and serve some champagne. Then, you have yourself one suave and sophisticated party.

I think the dress code can be anything from snazzy cocktail wear to full-on white tie if you are feeling boujee. Things like suits, ties, tuxedos, long evening dresses, elegant heels, and so forth will do some wonders to create cohesion in the theme. Just be sure to say so on your invites.

Party Place has tons of options for decorations, so whether or not you are wanting to get deep in the theme or keep things simple, they have you covered.

Definitely check out the Star Party Place Cards to get that Hollywood Star looks in a simple and subtle way on the table decorations. Keeping with the theme, the Awards Nights tassels definitely give that star-in-the-night vibe without breaking the bank!

Not to mention, to really be on theme and make this a proper watch party, check out the Awards Night game cards! These are sure to be a fun way to get your guests involved with the Oscars and get participatory during the night.

See? It is as simple as that to get a sophisticated, elegant, but fun party together. Check out the rest of the Party Place awards night decorations for even more inspiration.

Gobble + Wobble: A Turkey-centric Thanksgiving Party

I love a good turkey. Yes, to eat, but also I think that they are just fascinating and quite funny looking creatures—which I appreciate. They are just peacocks in different fonts, if you will… Anyways, none of this matters. What does matter, however, is that I am here to present to you some fun ideas for a turkey party.

Party Place has so many fun turkey and Thanksgiving decorations that I just cannot ignore them. There must be a party. Now that Halloween has come and gone, this means holiday season has OFFICIALLY started. Why wait until the next official holiday to throw a party? Why not throw some in honor of the party and just take the vibes of the holiday to make it a fun and festive endeavor.

Hence the eagerness to do a turkey party.

Lucky for you, Party Place has absolutely got you covered with the decorations, as aforementioned. Centerpieces, plates, tablecloths, and literally anything else is there for your decorating pleasures.

The real fun, however, comes with how goofy you want to make this turkey party.

I propose one very goofy and iconic (in my opinion) idea. The dress code is to dress up like a turkey. Your guests can take this however they want… roasted turkey, a regular turkey, a turkey leg, and so much more. The possibilities may not be endless, but the laughs will be when everyone shows up in their goofiest turkey get-up.

For food, you absolutely need to serve turkey. It just would not be a turkey party without it. You’ll definitely need to set up a photo booth area to show off those outfits, and you are free to do anything else you like.

I think some fun and festive drinks would be a great addition as well. As pictured below, you could make some divine cranberry cocktail or sangria.

I think a pin-the-tail on the turkey would be a fun addition to the party, and you could even have a costume contest for most creative.

Get gobbling and do a turkey party!

Need a Last Minute Halloween Costume? We’ve Got You Covered

I know that we usually talk about parties on here, but today is a different day. Plus, why not do something different for a change!

We will be back to regularly scheduled content next time. Pinky promise.

Anyways, with Halloween QUICKLY approaching people need some costumes! I won’t lie, this is my favorite holiday so I have had mine figured out for quite some time now, but I am here to help the people.

No need to fret about your last minute Halloween costume because let me tell you, Party Place has you covered.

Party Place offers tons of Halloween costumes for children and adults alike for any type of character you would want to be this spooky season. I know, isn’t that cool?

See! That is another reason to write about a non-party topic this time, because it is not only apt but definitely helpful knowledge to know that Party Place sells costumes too.

So, while you are getting your Halloween party decorations, you can make it a one-stop shop moment for you to get that costume secured as well.

I know that when I am busy running errands, the more things I can get at one place, the better! It is a much less stressful experience to say the least.

So, here is a round-up of my favorite costumes offered by Party Place this year.

A classic kids costume that I love seeing every year is a pumpkin. Adorable. Love it. Keep doing it.

Kids Pumpkin Costume

We’ve talked about it before, and I will say it again, this Girls Lovely Llama Costume is a winning choice from me.

Finally, rounding it out, we can’t go without mentioning a Suicide Squad inspired Joker costume. It’s pretty killer… if you know what I mean.

Do not wait until it is too late, because someone will snag these great finds up!

Life is full of pasta-bilities!

I was looking at national holidays (you know, as one does), and I saw that July 14th is the national holiday for mac and cheese. I am not asking you to throw a mac and cheese party, though you are more than welcome to do so, but instead, I want everyone to throw a pasta party.

Pasta is one of my favorite categories of food. I am a big Italian food fan, so it honestly only makes sense that I am this way. I have been to Italy three times, and each time I have taken a pasta making class with my favorite chef in the world… Chef Fabio!

He is such a fun guy, and he is super Italian. By this I mean that he puts me to shame every time I come back and tell him I have in fact bought boxed pasta again.

He usually just sighs and tells me “but you know how to make pasta, stop eating this garbage!” Yes, those are his words, not mine.

So, I am going to give you guys this super-secret pasta recipe for this pasta party.

First, I am going to tell you how to set up the pasta party.

Basically, we are making little Italy. Since it is summer outside, let’s go for an outdoor dinner party vibe. Get the bistro lights hung, a cute little gingham table cloth placed, and the Italian love songs rolling. Click here for an Italian playlist on Spotify.

For décor, think about making food the centerpiece. That is very Italian. Go simple and let the food do the talking. If you want to get real Italian though, get some empty wine bottles, place skinny, long candle sticks in the top of the wine bottle. This is a super easy but fun way to add some rustic, Italian character to your tables.

Now, for the pasta recipe, we are making tagliatelle.

Just four ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, spooned & leveled
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  1. Make a small volcano/nest with your flour and place your cracked egg in the middle of your volcano/nest on a clean, flat surface. (make sure to have a little flour reserved for later)
  2. Add in the salt and olive oil to the nest with the egg.
  3. Take a fork and gently start incorporating the egg mix into the flour. (be careful to not let the nest break and the egg go everywhere!)
  4. Once it comes into a shaggy ball, start to knead it with your hands until a smooth dough ball is formed.
  5. After this, clean off your area and put fresh flour on the surface.
  6. Place your dough ball in the middle of the floured surface, then roll out until thin and flat.
  7. Take your flat dough sheet and roll longways half way. Repeat on the other side.
  8. Now, take a knife and cut ¼ inch pieces that cut across both rolled sides. Repeat until end of the dough.
  9. Then, take your knife, slide it under the cut dough rolls and gently pick up the knife. You’ll see the dough unroll into lovely strips!
  10. Now, boil your noodles for about 3-4 minutes and add whatever sauce you want.
  11. Enjoy!

Pool Parties with Party Place

Summer is in FULL swing! Now that it is July, that means the heat has cracked up to the max
and school is out for another month for the kids. So, what else could be better to beat the heat
and entertain one’s self than with a pool party!

Even if you do not have a pool at your disposal at your house, we have several other options for
you to get those pool vibes going.

First off, check with your local public pool or a friend that has a pool to set up a time for you to
have a party. This can be as casual and lowkey as you want, and honestly the world is your
oyster. The only thing to consider with a public pool is that if this is an adult pool party, alcohol
is probably not allowed nor glass of any kind. Yet, let’s not let that put a damper on us! You
don’t need anything more than good vibes for a pool party, truth be told.

Now, if neither of those options strike your fancy, let’s think about how to make it a pool party
without a pool. Invest in some kiddie pools (which are pretty inexpensive!!), beach chairs, and
maybe even for extra fun some sand from your local home improvement store to really maximize
the sunny summer vibes we are going for this party.

Honestly, if it is a kid party, kiddie pools are fantastic for the little ones and provide tons of fun.
If it is more for adults, I still think a kiddie pool has a certain comical value that is 10 out of 10 in
terms of vibes. I know my friends and I would absolutely love to host something like that. Again,
just for kicks, you know?

I don’t want to tell you guys how to host the perfect pool party because the perfect pool party is
subjective! However, what I do want to suggest are lots of decorations you could use to make the
pool party, however you want to go about it, extra special and summery.

Here are links to some of my favorite decorations and party supplies for pool parties from The
Party Place:

  1. For the Pineapple Lovers
  2. Colorful Cutouts
  3. No Sand? No Problem? – Beach Table Covering
  4. Shark Attack!! – Napkins
  5. Sally Sells Seashells Plates

Have a fabulous time this summer, and be safe with all your party endeavors.

Fireworks, Burgers, and Flags: A Classic 4th of July

The Fourth of July is coming up so soon, and we have got to be prepared. I am sure some people are antsy to get it going, and have a “normal” fourth once again. It has been awhile since we have been able to gather like this in huge groups, and of course we still need to be careful, I think it is safe to say we can have some good ol’ fun!

I can remember all the barbecues, fireworks, and pool parties I have had on the Fourth of July. Which, when you are an American that grows up in the South… it kind of is like a right of passage to have a killer party for the Fourth!

So, how does one host a killer party for the Fourth of July you might ask? Well, it is pretty simple.

Good food, good drinks, and good vibes.

[

It sounds cliché, but I swear it is all you need. A deadly combination for one heck of a time.

For decorations… have the outdoors serve as your backdrop! No one wants to spend a 4th of July inside. This is like the epitome of summer for Americans, so let’s at least live up to the hype and take a breath of the fresh outdoors.

For some cool little elements to add to tables and so forth, think about this Firework Centerpiece that is sure to make a bang!

We have tons of American flags as well, so if being patriotic is the goal, we’ve definitely got you covered.

For a bit of a laugh, think about these bar vests that are sure to get a chuckle out of your guests. Maybe a few drinks in, and no one will even have any reservations about wearing a silly vest! I will definitely be purchasing a few of these.

Now, don’t forget the food and drinks. Definitely one of the most important aspects in my opinion for the perfect Fourth of July party. Go simple and do a classic American cookout. Burgers, hot dogs, and beer go great with any outdoor summer celebration.

I don’t want to control every little detail over your fun party, so we leave the Fourth almost completely up to you! It is your party and your way of celebrating the birth of America.

Stop by to pick up all your décor and get into the spirit.

Cheers!
